Brexit has made this country mad. It’s lost its bearings, its sense of priorities, its morality. We give airtime to liars and fraudsters. We’ve turned against each other. Our politicians are actively deceiving us for their own ends and so many just don’t care.

They’ll deny it, then they’ll tell you you’re petty for minding, that the matter is closed and it’s time to move on, that they’re too busy doing big important govt things now and that people don’t care about it anyway… Ignore it all. Keep minding.

Brexit discredited. New post on my Brexit & Beyond Blog. As the damage to trade becomes clearer, an analysis of the strange case of Thatcherite Brexiters and the incoherent post-Brexit strategy their misunderstandings of markets and regulation have led to: chrisgreybrexitblog.blogspot…

How do you look at what's going on in the country and conclude it's the wealthiest 1% who need helping?

So you’re surprised that the highly decorated Dame who runs the Met Police won’t be investigating illegal Downing Street lockdown parties when her officers actually arrested women at a vigil for someone murdered by one of her own colleagues. You haven’t been paying attention.

The police bill is awful and no properly functioning legislature would pass it.

Mark Byron François is an absolute joke. But he is also the very essence Brexit. Strutting ignorance blaming everyone but himself for his own inadequacy. We laugh at him. But he represents what this govt claims our country chose. And what a choice that’s turning out to be.

Lots of ridiculous scrabbling about trying to suppress/deny/bat away Tory Christmas party-gate as no big deal. It’s some of the most brazenly contemptuous, entitled, rule-breaking shittery they’ve attempted to get away with and utterly demeaning for any of us to excuse.

Number 10 warns the US 😂. That belief that continues to emanate from the UK government that only it genuinely understands trade and Northern Ireland, and everyone else is wrong... independent.co.uk/news/uk/po…

2/3 of voters didn’t turn up in the Old Bexley and Sidcup by-election. Not so much ‘take back control’ as be controlled. A landslide for apathy and cynicism. Watch strutting Tories parade it as a success when it couldn’t be a more damning indictment of the state of our politics.

Hancock still trotting out ‘What we were doing was saving lives’… like some kind of robo-lunatic. You just weren’t. You know that. Look at the death toll. You were monetising tragedy and panic. You were failing us. How dare you claim some kind of nobility as your shield.

lots of fun seeing Tory MPs angrily deny Boris Johnson is a clown as he drives around in his clown car in his clown costume honking his clown horn

Why is Matt Hancock staging a comeback and why are the media entertaining it? He is a bin fire of mismanagement and corruption, he’s not ABBA.

I'm sorry to QT my own tweets, but I want to grab you by the virtual lapels and make sure you see this. It is so huge, and so important, and it's happening right now, yet most people are completely unaware of it.
Replying to @GeorgeMonbiot
You need to understand what this means. It means criminalising all effective protests, or pickets, or any other kind of action, on roads, railways, ports, airports, oil refineries, printing presses and other such, unspecified "key infrastructure". These are dictators' powers.

It really doesn’t take a genius to make the connection between rampant piss-taking government corruption/rule-breaking and Covid being “the worst public health failure in UK history”. The ‘Johnson is doing his best’ crowd… come on… you’re looking like a right bunch of idiots.

Don’t these Tories ever get tired of being utter shits and having to lie and plot to stop us challenging them? Don’t they ever want to be honest and decent and actually do some good rather than just pretend to?Seems not. Power is all they want and they’ll break everything for it.

They roll around in the trough removing welfare from the poorest. They break the rules and party while we don’t see our families. They react to people drowning in the channel by threatening to scrap the Human Rights Act and leave the ECHR. They are truly fucking appalling.
