Nadine Dorries, purveyor of the Airfix school of public statements: phrases randomly selected from different kits, roughly cut from the sprue, heavily glued together without reference to the instructions, then hastily painted with whatever shade of blue is left in the bottle.
British and Canadian historians jump on to explain that *ackshually* we refer to it as the Eleventh World War.

Can’t help but feel frustrated this evening as UK twitter is full of (rightful) outrage about #RoeVsWade. Just a reminder - here in NI abortion is decriminalised but as services have STILL NOT BEEN COMMISSIONED there are countless barriers to actually accessing an abortion.

Mogg talks mog.
"If you go through the Dartford Tunnel...we've got very funny numbers, and this is all because of an EU regulation." Jacob Rees-Mogg reflects on "ridiculous" EU laws he is happy to see scrapped.
This Is UNFAIR
Yesterday I appeared in a case involving complex legal arguments. Papers came after 6pm the night before and I worked well past midnight. I arrived at court at 9 am only to find out my client was taken to Coventry by Serco..ETA 2pm 1/

Doesn’t this sum Johnson up?
Just interviewed Boris Johnson for #C4News tonight (in addition to the "pool clips" you may have seen already). Will post it here shortly. He says he takes responsibility for electoral losses, but shows little sign he thinks it has got that much to do with him.
The proper English way!

Have you considered just not making a fuss and getting on the wrong bus?

Not sure where they're going to find an "army of supply teachers" given there aren't enough supply teachers even when there's no strike.

My only comment on the Bill of Rights Bill today: the Explanatory Notes accept that large parts of the Bill require devolved consent, so there is your next big devolution stushie right there.

Yes, leaving the EU makes us immune to international manufacturers decisions. Of course we’ll still have imperial connectors!
Replying to @tomhfh
“Thankfully we left the EU before it decided to mandate what sort of phone chargers we can have, a typically short-termist and anti-innovation measure which will only have a long term negative effect for consumers.”

‘This dashboard is the supply-side reformer’s El Dorado and, naturally, I am pointing to the treasure trove of opportunity this publication represents.’

A really alarming update on this. Bristol Council has banned local democracy reporters from attending Mayor Marvin Rees' media briefings.
Wow. Bristol Council comms boss suggests that BBC-funded local democracy reporter @AlexGSeabrook shouldn’t be asking Mayor Marvin Rees about flying 9,000 miles to speak on climate change. She says Alex is not “a journalist from a newspaper”

No Human Rights Act, and 130 families would have needlessly lost homes specially adapted from their needs to save money which would have been immediately spent rehousing them. We need brakes on executive power in this country. This is the most effective. That's why they hate it

But unfortunately a few sensible recommendations do not make this a credible report. The language used is unprofessional, there are gross errors of fact, and many of the claims are unsupported by evidence.

As a lawyer, this should concern my MP @GuyOpperman .
If @DominicRaab had taken the time to read the Osman Judgment he would know that he has just utterly misrepresented the duty that it imposes on police forces on @BBCr4today. If he hasn't read it, why is he relying on it as an example of why the HRA needs to be replaced?

How you talk about pay rises makes a different to what people think is reasonable. Yesterday we polled teachers on what rise they’d give to the profession. In one version, we added context (‘anchors’) & in another just straight %s. See the huge difference! (Via @TeacherTapp)

So how involved are govt? This is what one of the recently-signed contracts between the Dept of Transport and a train operating company says about industrial action: ‘the Operator’s handling of such industrial action will be subject always to the secretary of state’s direction’
