Brett Favre when asking Bryant in 2018 for help finding funding to construct lockers at the facility: “[It would be helpful] [i]f someone would build them on [their] spare time. Poncho mentioned the prison industry possibly as a builder.”

Why is it that Dems & some Republicans can come together to pass a policing bill, but can’t pass living wages, voter protections & extended child tax credits?

Solidarity with the courageous women and allies in Iran protesting for their freedom. Mahsa Amini was senselessly murdered by the same patriarchal and autocratic forces repressing women the world over. The right to choose belongs to us all, from hijabs to reproductive care.

Shout out to the 9 no votes, which includes @AOC @JamaalBowmanNY @AyannaPressley @CoriBush @RashidaTlaib. I see you. These types of DOJ grants only expand surveillance + criminalization. They can be used to fund Sheriff's offices to target immigrants for arrest and detention.
360-64: House passed legislation creating a new Justice Department grant program to help small police depts. with fewer than 200 officers fund body cameras, training, & mental health care resources. The Invest to Protect Act by Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) now heads to the Senate.

I was in the room when this happened and it was just as gross and wild in person as it is here. People rightly discuss conflicts of interest of members of Congress, but lobbying of senior staff (who move on behalf of members + committees) is a huge part of the problem too.
This is inexcusable. A truly wild moment yesterday from the House Financial Services Committee, where they laugh about the revolving door from Congress to the banks.

In an @FSCDems hearing, we pushed private banks on their handling of Paycheck Protection Program loans. This program was designed to help small business owners survive the pandemic, but instead there are numerous reports that eligible loans are not being fully forgiven.

Today, I filed a lawsuit against Donald Trump for engaging in years of financial fraud to enrich himself, his family, and the Trump Organization.  There aren't two sets of laws for people in this nation: former presidents must be held to the same standards as everyday Americans.

Of all people, since when does this guy take issue with “siding with Republicans” ☠️
Manchin rails on “revenge politics” over the energy project permitting deal he cut with Schumer. Said he’s “never” seen stranger bedfellows than “the extreme liberal left siding with Republican leadership.” He said the text of the deal “will be out tomorrow.”

Twitter, I need your help. Today, NYC launched its historic taxi medallion debt relief program—could erase $100M+ of debt. BUT the City has set 9/30 as the app deadline for drivers w/ loans from Marblegate—largest lender. That’s in just 11 days. Can you RT to spread the word?

BREAKING: All of Puerto Rico — every town, neighborhood, house — is without power. That’s 1.4 million households. Winds over the southern portion of the island have gusted 80-100 mph, but elsewhere winds have been much lesser. Despite this, the grid is tenuous at best.

They were not deported. They were brought to shelter in the US. With no help from you. Why lie to and traffic Venezuelan refugees? For votes? This is nuestra familia Latina. You should be standing up for them. If it’s one thing we can count on you for, it’s being una vergüenza.

By today’s standards, most US families would have be deemed undocumented or trafficked at some point in their family history. For the most part, people didn’t need lawyers and years of processing to come to this US until immigration became a racialized issue. Remember that
