It was nice to get a sneak peek of @MurdochUni new building, designed around learning and teaching, yesterday.
It is an impressive building - even before the fit out. Looking forward to teaching in there next year.
Final publication from my PhD Thesis. Dancers continue to dance when experiencing pain and disability, however do so by adapting their load. Acknowledging that pain is complex, and movement is one piece of a bigger puzzle @PeteOSullivanPT@Leon_Strakerjournals.plos.org/plosone/ar…
Prof @mitchjduncan says one thing his research showed was that there was a very short time near the start of the program where all users engaged. "There's a unique window we've got to maximise behaviour change."

Australian Sports Med/Sport Science conferences draw from a limited pool of talkers and the same talks appear on a semi-regular basis. Our two big ones should perhaps check out each other's programs a bit more often.

Labor’s plans to boost multidisciplinary care and allied health will fail if such investment is not direct – using the GP as a gateway is unnecessary and inefficient.
Thanks Alasdair! Just a correction for your followers: The Professor in Psychology position does not require registration, it requires research in the area of clinical psychology. The other two positions are, indeed, for registered psychologists. Thanks, again!
We have three Psychology positions advertised at Murdoch University in Western Australia. Deadline for applications = 13 May 2022.

TBF I haven't read the papers yet but looks like we have a repeat of the anterior drawer vs valgus from the early 2000s.
I have a suspicion that valgus will win out but with the acknowledgement it is multifactorial.
Recent evidence indicates the primary biomechanical mechanism of non-contact ACL injury is axial compression (provokes tibial translation)
Knee valgus may be a secondary MOI, perhaps even occurring AFTER the ACL has already ruptured.
Major implications for risk reduction…🤔
In terms of axial loading I think it will be there but the fact we have actively contracting hamstrings and other muscles antagonist to anterior drawer means we won't have that as the primary mechanism
Election announcement imminent – it’s time for action. The Government made it clear in the Budget that ensuring access to #alliedhealth services for people in #agedcare is not a priority. How will you make your vote count? bit.ly/3uezSHe#auspol#fairaccessforall
Well research has just supported that biomechanics applies to both female AND male athletes! Phew! I thought only female athletes were affected by the principles of biomechanics where male athletes in all their superiority were immune to them! 🤦🏽♀️
