Texture artists, I highly suggest checking out model artists for inspiration, they’ve been doing it longer in the physical space, and have good philosophies on texturing that correlates well into 3D.

Highly doubt this will happen until Blender has a C/C++ API. For all its flaws, Maya's APIs make it easy for people and studios to share their work. You can't do this in Blender without Python, which is notoriously slow no matter how much you try to cheat your way through.

Amazing thread on the need for the metaverse from a content re-usability perspective.
As a #gamedev, I find it terribly saddening as I walk around Arkham Knight's Gotham. There is just so, so much love and detail in all the environment artwork, and yet the gameplay doesn't really support it at all...

Next Gen will revolutionise nothing, except the ability to use movie studios' raw CG assets and pretend that is a 'good thing' for everyone. If we want better games we need to vote with our wallets. Looking at the charts we're a long way from that.

I rarely see a AAA game now where I say: "Ooh! I wonder what the hell that's all about!" And that's by design. You're not supposed to wonder. You're supposed to know. It's the value-proposition. If you don't already know how it's going to play the marketing has 'failed'.

And another one: vertex color blending! You can composite AO, Curvature, Gradient, Noise and many other filters on your mesh, and apply them as vertex colors with ease. As you can see, the graph despite being fairly big, has zero intersections thanks to our Portals system :)
