Dear @GoFundMeUK we @bbcradiolondon covered the story of the amazing work @ArcadianSurgery is doing with its allotment in helping patients mental well-being. They’ve raised over £1000 with you in donations to keep this going, but having trouble getting the funds..can you help?

They’re in danger of the donations going back to the donors unless you can help sort it out! And that would be a real shame for those patients relying on the allotment.

Here’s the tl;dr from @matt_levine: Modern finance made UK pensions vulnerable to runs, and then there was a run on those pensions, and the BOE had to step in to buy gilts to save them, because that’s what happens in a bank run bloomberg.com/opinion/articl…

The UK's economic woes appear to be a story of fiscal recklessness that's forced the Bank of England to stabilize crashing financial markets by buying up government bonds. The real story is actually more complicated, and it all comes down to pensions trib.al/DuvM0s2

Pls share to stop confusion. THERE IS NO £2,500 CAP ON ENERGY BILLS. Instead the new 1 Oct guarantee, like the old caps, limits - Daily charge (28p gas, 46p elec) - & Unit rates (10p/kWh gas, 34p/kWh elec) So use more, pay more. £2,500 is just what someone with avg use'd pay
