🗣 Anna Marriott, @Oxfam we have a world trade organisation ministerial coming up in Geneva - we need to see the UK government switching sides. They need to back the trips waiver wholeheartedly so that those manufacturer’s across the world that have expressed and come forward.

🗣 Anna Marriott, @Oxfam: It’s actually greed and capitalism that is blocking the equitable roll-out of vaccines, sufficient supply for developing countries

🗣 Anna Marriott, @Oxfam the UK government, shamefully, is one of a handful of governments that is blocking the real systemic solutions to global vaccine access in the midst of a pandemic, where people are dying now.

🗣 Anna Marriott, @Oxfam on what she would say to Boris Johnson: I would tell him that greed capitalism is not the reason why we have such a rapid development of vaccines. It was publicly financed - in the case of AstraZeneca, 97% publicly financed.

🗣 Anna Marriott, @Oxfam: Let’s remember the mantra, the new narrative from the big pharmaceutical companies is that we now have enough doses and the case is all about redistribution and if they’re blocking the redistribution, that’s kind of hypocrisy of the worst kind.

🗣 Anna Marriott, @Oxfam there is evidence emerging that pharmaceutical corporations, in some cases, are blocking the donations. #APPGCoronavirus nitter.fdn.fr/i/broadcasts/1yo…
