That’s me on the right! Quite proud of the tan, not sure why I’m looking so worried though. Videos on the meaning of the games we played.

After all that fuss about Metroid Dread’s supposedly high price, surprised to find myself buying it effectively for £35 in Asda (2 for £70)…

Despite loving Dune 2 and most other mega drive strategy games, I never got anywhere with Herzog Zwei (1989). So I’m giving the original Herzog (1988) a go on MSX2 to see if that’s simple enough for me to understand! It’s been pretty fun so far…

The graphics on the cover may not have matched the actual game, but delighted to find Beach Head on the BBC Micro is still just as playable now as it was in 1985. If you want a real challenge try playing it with a non-self-centring joy stick…

Ever seen that Christian Bale playing on ‘a classic Atari console’ tweet from Atari (actually an Amstrad)? This seems to be the original Twitter source for the photo and for the misidentification. Virgin Mega Store then repeated the mistake in English a little later.
Ya que estamos con fotos de famosos jugando Y es su cumpleaños: Christian Bale con la Atari apagada.

And the award for first person to specifically point out the mistake on Twitter goes to this dude!

Just for once it would be nice to get into an old video game system where the game prices are surprisingly low. There must be one out there somewhere, Atari 800 possibly?

Anyone recognise this series? Not too hard, but can you name each game? Maximum points if you can name the systems each game is running on too…

Atomic Runner aka Chelnov - comparing Mega Drive vs X68000 (emulated on og Xbox) vs the Saturn prototype. All good, but the tiny detailed MD graphics look amazing on my PVM and win it. Controls take a while to get used to, but this is probably my favourite later MD game…

Not a game I know well on the SMS, but pleasingly a bit easier than the arcade ever seemed! #MasterSystemChallenge

Think it might be time for me to give Impossible Mission a proper go. But which version’s best? Beeb vs ZX vs C64 vs SMS vs NES!

What’s the most obscure game you ever played? It’s taken me years to work out what that zx spectrum Isle of Wight text adventure I came back from a school trip with actually was, so guess it must be The Lost Ruby for me! Goes without saying I got nowhere with it…

I’ve always wanted to go back and do some 8bit micro comparisons. I seem to be up and running now for simultaneous BBC Micro vs Spectrum vs Commodore. Now if only the Beeb had a volume control…

I wonder if there were Panasonic fan boys out there who did all their gaming from 1983 to 2007 on Panasonic hardware?

Just finished my first ever go (293,200) on Streets of Rage for the Master System for this week’s #mastersystemchallenge Dubious collision detection aside, it’s a really impressive port. Never did work out how to pull off the special move though, oh well!
