Israel has killed an average of more than one Palestinian every day this year. This is the price of a “Jewish state” settler-colony on majority non-Jewish indigenous land.

All Germans and all Europeans must know: You cannot wash away your guilty consciences with Palestinian blood. Instead of cleaning the stain of your forebears horrible Nazi crimes, you are only repeating and compounding them. We will not forgive or forget. #WeRemember #NeverAgain

At least 9 Palestinians were shot dead during an Israeli invasion of Jenin refugee camp this morning, according to local sources. Every day the Israeli apartheid regime inflicts new horrors.

I used to think saying "Israel lobby" was antisemitic but critical thinking made me realise if other countries have lobbies why not Israel. I'd never dared quote tweet this a few years back but now, having learned more about the situation, I'm happy to & will be buying the book

I’m not saying this to be facetious. I truly believe that the Palestinians are LUCKY that the Jewish people, of all people, are their “occupiers”. Any other nation would have destroyed them along time ago. And the most infuriating part is, the Palestinians KNOW it!

Britain’s brutal military and Zionist-Nazi collusion: a fine, fascinating read @AsaWinstanley on the dark forces and mercenary methods used in the past purging of Palestinians.

“Hill Hill Hill Hill” — awesome quadruple redundancy in four languages. Love it.

Welsh is spelt almost entirely phonetically — despite being constantly taken the piss of by the English for being “too hard”. It’s actually far easier to learn than English, with its bizarre mishmash of spellings. News flash: other languages have different alphabets! Imagine! 🫠
"The hardest of all is the name Aoife... For those unsure, it is pronounced “ee-fa”, unhelpfully almost nothing like its spelling" Great news @thetimes Aoife IS pronounced *exactly* like it's spelt because of this crazy thing called OTHER LANGUAGES THAT AREN'T ENGLISH.

It’s also a common myth that Welsh is all consonants: it actually has 7 vowels, which is 2 more than English! They are: a, e, i, o, u, w, y.

Fun fact about the River Avon, which flows through Bristol and Bath: Avon comes from the old Brittonic word for “river”. (Brittonic is the ancestor of Welsh, Cornish and Breton.) Afon (pronounced “a- von”) is still the Welsh word for River. So River Avon means “River River”.

There’s actually six English rivers called “Avon” and a fair few English place names with Brittonic elements — which tells you something about British history. Learned this from “The Welsh Language: A History” by Janet Davies.
