Got my #FluShot today! 🎉 Because honestly why would I volunteer to be a willing host for ANY disease if I can walk into a Walgreens, fill out a form, and get the immune-system cheat-sheet for free? (Check your local pharmacy or doctor’s office to find out where to get yours!)

Any kind of communicable disease exposure is a pop quiz for your immune system. It has to figure out how to fight the virus/bacteria before the disease overwhelms your body. A vaccine lets your immune system see the test in advance AND keep notes — way better odds of passing!

Not being vaccinated when you COULD be vaccinated is like putting your immune system in that dream where it shows up to school naked and there’s a test it didn’t study for except in this case it’s not a dream and if it fails you get sick and are miserable in real life ☹️

Hoping they release cold RNA shots soon! I assume they'll get to them after they do all the actually serious diseases like HIV and malaria

I don't understand why flu shots aren't free to *everyone*. They're like, $35-50 for the uninsured.

Yessssss! Why study for the final when you don't have to??? I kid. I kid. Creating a cheat sheet always ensures you will remember things and not have to cheat. It works for your immune system, too!

Last time I got my flu shot the leaves fell off the trees and within a month or two there was snow. No one wants to talk about this but it’s true

I have to pay up to $50 for mine. Not even private health insurance covers immunisations in Australia.
