Remember that when people in power are chastising you for being uncivil (or just thinking about being uncivil) they are really just telling you to shut the fuck up
The clinic staff spent Friday canceling the appointments of 60-70 patients scheduled for abortions in the coming weeks.
“Some patients broke down and could not speak through their sobbing. Some patients were stunned and didn't know what to say. Some patients did not understand.”
Tucson Councilmember Steve Kozachik tells me the City is in process of giving land to Pascua Yaqui tribe and in coordination with the tribe may invite Planned Parenthood for an abortion safe haven. SCOTUS doesn't have jurisdiction over tribal land. Watch my report @KVOA at 6.
I think the fact that multiple members of the Supreme Court lied to gain confirmation is not getting as much attention as it deserved. The McConnell Supreme Court is the most corrupt in US history.
Letting every state functionally be a country unto itself while leaving Congress rigged and broken is a horrifically bad idea. Republicans are literally destroying this country's ability to function as a unified whole. /end
He also urged soldiers to pray for the safety of Supreme Court justices and families “whose lives are in danger from Satanic-influenced evildoers." bit.ly/3ndIsl1
If you live in a blue dot, one thing you can do is push your city council and DA office to declare they will not prosecute anti-abortion laws. google.com/amp/s/cbsaustin.c…
When this type of rapid shift from good to bad happens in *any* other competitive industry — from college football to tech companies — leaders are replaced
I keep thinking about how, with two months notice that this ruling was coming, the democratic-controlled congress not only *didn't* codify abortion rights, but overwhelmingly passed a security bill protecting these SCOTUS justices
If four liberal Supreme Court justices said a thing during their confirmation hearings and then contradicted themselves in a momentous case that fundamentally changed America to favor Democrats, there's a 100% chance a Republican-controlled House would impeach all four.
Democrats have such a deep bench of aggressive young fighters who can't do anything because because the party's staid and decrepit leadership absolutely refuses to get out of the way. I haven't heard one creative idea from leadership on abortion or guns. Just "vote harder."
Does everyone need to vote? Of course! But there's just no creativity from leadership. No will to apply political pressure or exact political costs on Republicans. It's stunning how comfortable and disengaged they are.
Every Republican understands the value of showing grit, of fighting tooth and nail, even if you ultimately lose. Democratic leaders, on the other hand, are mortified by the idea of entering a fight they're not 100% guaranteed to win. And it shows.
