Very pleased that potentially harmful “advice” for new mothers about breastfeeding and weight loss has now been removed from the NHS Start4Life website. Brilliant work, @rachelmoss_💪
As @maggyvaneijk so brilliantly pointed out, you don't need to "get your body back" after giving birth, it hasn't gone anywhere.... Shameful advice from the NHS Start4Life website huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/n…

The introduction of buffer zones doesn’t shut down debates on abortion, it simply ensures that the law protects women from harassment and safeguards their right to access confidential medical care. #BackOff guernseypress.com/news/uk-ne…

Anti-choice groups have every right to campaign for restrictions on women’s reproductive choice and there are plenty of opportunities and spaces for them to do just that, but the space directly outside a clinic should not be one of them. #BackOff bpas-campaigns.org/campaigns…

Studies show that the COVID-19 vaccine does not harm fertility in men or women. It is not associated with any reduction in the chance of conceiving via IVF. Important awareness raising from @BritFertSoc @GlamourMagUK glamourmagazine.co.uk/articl…

We all have a stake in science. If you’ve had an abortion or IVF you could get paid to share your thoughts about how biology research with human fetal tissue is conducted and communicated. Organised by @GurdonInstitute, funded by @WellcomeTrust. Contact us hdbi-pe@bio.cam.ac.uk

We agree with @PollyVernon - we need to denormalise asking every woman over the age of 30 if and when they are going to have children. Let's leave it out of the light chat repertoire. graziadaily.co.uk/life/real-…

Under a law passed in 1933, doctors in Germany can face prosecution for providing information about abortion care to their patients, and several clinicians have been fined in recent years. This is good news - but woefully overdue. reuters.com/world/europe/ger…

We know from our research that restrictions in 2020 led women to feel anxious and distressed, particularly when attending maternity services alone. Women and pregnant people need clear communication about birth partners - who play a vital role in good maternity care.
Research we conducted last week with almost 7,000 women who had used maternity services in the last 2 months found that 1 in 5 had either given birth alone, or been told they would have to give birth alone if they caught Covid. This goes against NHS guidance #ButNotMaternity

Mothers and their babies are at far higher risk from COVID-19 infection than from having the vaccine, and this is reflected in the number of unvaccinated pregnant women in intensive care units across the country. ~ @nelson_piercy bpas.org/about-our-charity/p…
