We are disappointed but not surprised that @BootsUK has rejected calls from MPs, campaigners, and women’s healthcare bodies to retain a fairer price for emergency contraception. Today, Boots are charging between £15.99 and £56.50 (!!!!) for this essential medication.
Women needing levonorgestrel EC who have a BMI of over 26, weigh more than 11 stone, & those on certain medications, must purchase a double dose pack. This costs £31.98 for the generic and £56.50 for the branded version. That's almost £60 to prevent unplanned pregnancy.
