Here's an idea: two meager meals a day for all Alabama powerholders until conditions improve inside the prisons AND the parole board starts following its own guidelines. Until then, nothing but boiled hot dogs and stale bread in every Montgomery office.

When I got home today, Mr. Southern Spring showed me the latest attack flyer targeting the awesome @CheriBeasleyNC. He patiently listened as I deconstructed it, using my fancy liberal arts education! 1/..

To my great amusement, I observed that nearly every "bullet point" attacking Justice @CheriBeasleyNC was actually an endorsement in my eyes! 2/..

This flyer purports to attack @CheriBeasleyNC 's candidature. But, the "attacks" are actually things about her that, to me, are reasons to vote for her. 3/..

I have a Ph.D. and two undergrad degrees. In theory, I'm a pretty smart person! 4/..

This latest flyer "thinks" it is trash-talking her by saying things about her, things that, to me, are reasons to admire her even more! So, is this "trash-talking", or not? 5/..

Mr. Southern Spring is out shopping for "hurricane groceries," but I bet that if he were here, he'd tell me I'm over-thinking. In honor of my beloved Mr. Southern Spring, the only registered Democrat in our family of two, I'm donating..Here goes! 6/..

Donation complete! Thank you so much Ms. @CheriBeasleyNC for your service on the Supreme Court of North Carolina, and for your standing up for women's rights. When women are protected and elevated, everyone prospers. It is the way :-)
I've pledged to donate $$$ to @CheriBeasleyNC campaign whenever I get a flyer in the mail that trash-talks her. 5/..

One thing though I noticed about Chicago that made me like it better than North Carolina: The women I saw there are bold and strong and fearless. Women that made me instantly want to be their pal. 1/2

To me, some of the women in North Carolina sometimes seem a little beaten down, afraid of being noticed, fearful of triggering ... something. Not sure what. I have theories, but I'm no historian. Just someone that lives in a place. 2/2.
Chicago was so amazing. I love midwestern city dwellers. You're like North Carolinians - you speak your mind and have zero self-consciousness about anything. White people and Black people living together. Obama!

Just got back to Concord, NC from Chicago. Apparently there's a big hurricane on the way, and we're in the crosshairs. 1/

Apparently it clobbered Florida already? And got bigger and badder along the way? 2/

Florida did something to make it mad. Thanks a lot Florida. 3/3.
Chicago has ghost buildings, tall buildings in the downtown that look like they were built 50 or 100 years ago, but look to be completely empty.
I wish my trip to Chicago could last longer. The weather here is amazing right now. People are very good-natured.
