Where do you expect sewage to go?
Without enough appropriate landfill it goes on land or into water courses. The countryside is blighted with the stuff. Heavy metals, abattoir waste & some hospital/medical waste is included.
It's time towns/cities found a new way of disposal.

We will head into a farming crisis if politicians fail to join the dots.
A reduction in use of nitrate based fertilisers requires a substitution - manure being the obvious viable alternative.
A sudden reduction in livestock = a food chain crisis due to lack of organic matter.

The drought seems to have killed a lot of garden birds, despite filling a bird bath each day.
I heard a few swallows this evening over the field & we have pigeons & rooks. But all the other birds have gone & the garden is eerily silent.
I miss the blackbirds singing at dusk.

Cloudy here in Lincolnshire this afternoon, but not a drop.
The Typhoons have been flying over earlier & each time I initially thought it was distant thunder.
