Where do you expect sewage to go? Without enough appropriate landfill it goes on land or into water courses. The countryside is blighted with the stuff. Heavy metals, abattoir waste & some hospital/medical waste is included. It's time towns/cities found a new way of disposal.

Haven’t seen any word from Macron on Ukraine in weeks. Have to be thankful for these small mercies

We will head into a farming crisis if politicians fail to join the dots. A reduction in use of nitrate based fertilisers requires a substitution - manure being the obvious viable alternative. A sudden reduction in livestock = a food chain crisis due to lack of organic matter.

1. Stuff their green levies. The current predicament Europe finds itself in exposes the futility of renewables replacing fossil fuels anytime soon. Stuff their globalisation on steroids - it's enabled Putin to hold the western world to ransom because cheap gas is God.

2. Stuff their 'Brits are lazy' narrative - we gave residence to 6 million Europeans, they can shoulder some of the responsibility for lack of productivity if that pathetic narrative is to be pursued.

3. Stuff their ridiculous woke, walking on eggshells policies, where women are only acknowledged at election time when their votes are required. P'd off & angry with the lot of them at the moment.

Are you saying MP's don't do any work?
I’ve nowt against anybody having a family holiday but why couldn’t liar Johnson wait until after September 5 to take his second summer holiday? I mean his diary is going to be clear then, isn’t it?

Finally, a wise move coming from Germany. The country plans to postpone the closure of its last three nuclear power plants as it braces for a possible shortage of energy this winter after Russia throttled gas supplies to the country, said German government officials, WSJ reports.

SNP: Appoints Period Dignity Officer. I'd rather the 40k salary or whatever he (yes he) earns be put to better use. Women don't need this nonsense, they need their toilets & safe spaces protecting from weird pretenders. Free tampons aren't substitution for those basic norms.

The drought seems to have killed a lot of garden birds, despite filling a bird bath each day. I heard a few swallows this evening over the field & we have pigeons & rooks. But all the other birds have gone & the garden is eerily silent. I miss the blackbirds singing at dusk.

Is it raining where you are? Cloudy here in Lincolnshire this afternoon, but not a drop. The Typhoons have been flying over earlier & each time I initially thought it was distant thunder.

Curtain twitching.
Moving vans spotted outside Downing Street this morning. No 10 confirms PM is able to take away anything he spent his own money on during refurb - ie the Lulu Lytle furniture. This could technically include the £840-a-roll gold wallpaper…

... apart from the dilatory European Medicines Agency, who took a nice long Christmas holiday whilst we'd already approved & initiated vaccine rollout.
“‘There’s nothing about being an EU member that in any way impeded us from doing the vaccine rollout sooner’. "I said ‘you… know what you are telling me is not true, and you have got to stop treating the British people as if we’re stupid.” 👏👏👏 SPOT ON mirror.co.uk/news/politics/h…
