Based on data from Alberta & other jurisdictions, the risk of myocarditis following Moderna vaccine is higher than following Pfizer vaccine, especially in those aged 12 to 29. We advise that anyone aged 12 to 29 receive the Pfizer vaccine rather than Moderna. (2/10)

Health Canada has determined the benefits of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children aged 5 to 11 outweigh any potential risks. Children in this age group will be given a pediatric dose that is 1/3 the dose given to adults and children 12+. (6/10)

As with adults, there should be at least 8 weeks between doses for any children receiving the vaccine. If your child was recently immunized with another vaccine, it is also recommended you wait 14 days before having your child receive the pediatric COVID vaccine. (7/10)
