#Westworld is back, and while I was one of the rare people who actually enjoyed season 3, this felt like a stronger premier! I'm fascinated by the direction the story is heading in this season, particularly with Evan Rachel Wood seemingly playing a new character, or so it seems.
letterboxd.com/coachkaye42/f… I wasn't quite there before, but now I am officially excited for the reboot thanks to #BeavisAndButtheadDoTheUniverse! Even though he didn't direct this, Mike Judge is still the driving creative force, and he's perfected the art of "smart dumb comedy."
I forgot how much I actually enjoy Mike Judge’s work until I actually sit down to watch one of his movies or shows.
Being a Metalhead, it’s mandatory to appreciate the stupid-ass comedy of Beavis and Butt-Head, which the first movie takes to its logical extreme.
letterboxd.com/coachkaye42/f… Not every movie needs to be "groundbreaking" to justify its existence. Sometimes it can just be a damn good genre piece, and that's exactly what #TheBlackPhone is! @scottderrickson and @Massawyrm are right in their wheelhouse, glad I saw this in theaters.
Chances are I would have liked #SPRIGGAN a whole lot more had they cleaned up the animation, but as it is I really dug this cyberpunk take on Indiana Jones. Though as I understand it, even 6-45 minute episodes only scratches the surface of the manga, therefore I am craving more!
For as big an impact this movie had on me personally, I don't talk about it nearly enough. Like, I've probably watched this and Aladdin more times on VHS than any other movie in my collection.
After watching #Elvis (sorry, won't be shutting up about this movie for a while), I had a thought. Now, I know Baz Luhrmann isn't really interested in "franchise" films, and the idea of creating a "cinematic universe" set in the real world does seem a bit ridiculous...
...However, the actors cast to play B.B. King and Little Richard (Kelvin Harrison Jr. and Alton Mason respectively) were so good in those roles that it would be a wasted opportunity not to give them their own films.
Full review coming soon, but for now, I gotta give major props to @bazluhrmann and Austin Butler for bringing #Elvis to life in a way that truly captures his essence, unlike the thousands of impersonators out there.
letterboxd.com/coachkaye42/f… and now the review in question. I would honestly love to pick the brains of everyone in the cast and crew on how they brought this to life, as it's now taken the #1 spot for the year.
I think this might be the best episode of #TheGhostAndMollyMcGee so far? While not quite the season finale, it's every bit as emotionally charged, as we see just how much of an impact the McGee's had on the town of Brighton.
Also, "Everything is Totally Normal" is a bop!
