Probably also another good reason to quit propping up dictators overseas, who reciprocate by funding fascism here in the US (and/or providing intelligence support). Saudi Arabia and Israel being two notable "entangling alliances" among many. Shit, OPEC is literally a cartel.
If fascism is viewed as a global mutually-supporting crime syndicate, exactly like it was around 90 years ago, things begin to make a lot more sense. "A police state is a nation run by criminals."

People frequently sell their souls on installment plans, not all at once, and small transgressions become blatant disregard over time. Cops I worked with seemed to 💙 to speed constantly, rarely drove the limit whether on or off-duty, and drinking & driving was extremely common.

By the way, the Pence ruling is the debut for new chief Judge Jeb Boasberg, who has just replaced Beryl Howell. As people will learn, he is an excellent, smart, methodical Judge. It’s been very fortunate to have Howell the last couple years, and Boasberg figures to be as strong.
