Dear political media, When the debt limit fight comes, let’s remember that we have actual footage of the entire DC GOP denying plans to gut Social Security.

This is chilling. These people screaming at the president of the United States have no sense of the importance of their positions, or of the meaning of our democracy.

I love to see @VP’s team setting the record straight.
As we've seen over the past week there is no shortage of people willing to anonymously or publicly tear down the vice president. So since no one seems to know what she has done or is doing I'll put in all in one place:

When our political show producers & hosts approach their jobs as if their objective is to produce a political version of a WWE match, they're making a mockery of governing instead of respecting the importance of good governance Objective of INFORMING ACCURATELY is ranked too low

Do you know what breaks my heart every time? Meeting a single mother working full time who is homeless because she can’t afford to pay rent in Los Angeles earning $15.50 an hour. More than 70% of single mothers are rent burdened—the housing crisis is a women’s issue.

17% of Florida's children live below the federal poverty line. Nearly 2 out 10. 1 out of 6 Florida children are food insecure, meaning they don’t know where they will get their next meal. And @RonDeSantisFLis responds by banning children's books. GOP madness. 1/

We are facing a teacher shortage crisis. We must pay our educators what they deserve and take performative politics out of their classrooms.
In the last 25 years, wages for college graduates have risen 28%. Wages for teachers during the same period, only 2%. We’re calling on states and districts to increase teacher pay. It’s time our teachers saw the support and pay they deserve. Livable wage = Respect.

Afghanistan is the ONLY country in the world where millions of girls are BANNED from going to school or university. This artwork had been sent to me by a young woman, who used to be an Art teacher at a secondary school. Today, she is locked up at home — alone and heartbroken.

BREAKING: We've introduced a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United and the irresponsible SCOTUS decisions that came before it. Unrestricted dark money has no place in our elections or democracy. We need to return power to people. Once and for all.

A dynamic in the political arena that contributes long-term to bad behavior by electeds in governance is that the more ethical electeds expect or hope the press might recognize and GIVE CREDIT to electeds for more ethical actions, but the corporate press does not do that.

Politics for politics sake is something I will never participate in. The stakes are too high. Kids are hungry. Kids are getting shot. Our democracy is at risk. Our planet is at risk. This isn’t a game.

A brave woman in Afghanistan, with a child in her hand, writes “Education, Work, Freedom” on a wall. Women are now using graffiti as a form of protest. We MUST NOT forget the women of Afghanistan. They need us now more then ever. Be their voice!

I have a huge announcement and I want you to be the first to know: I’m running for State Senate in District 23! I am so honored to have this opportunity and can’t wait to hit the ground running for this community. You may remember when I ran in 2020 – we came within 0.8% 1/

Good start. Then they need to come to terms with the fact that paid field programs targeted to key subgroups is 💯 essential. AND another reminder that campaign finance continues to warp democracy.
DCCC’s super pac has already started eyeing 2024 seats in CA: CA-27 (Garcia-R) CA-40 (Kim-R) CA-41 (Calvert-R) CA-45 (Steel-R) In 22, the DCCC spent about $300k in the LA media market while spending tens of millions in NYC A DCCC Spokesperson said “LA is too expensive.”

I am once again asking you to make a plan for how you’re going to keep yourself informed, especially about public affairs (and double-especially about policy), before you (or a critical mass of other people) leave Twitter.
