Demanding better for my 3 children as Alliance Party Rep & Assembly candidate Mid Ulster. Rural, feminist, pro Choice. Generally not a bad spud.

Catching up on #DerryGirls. Yet again, transported right back to summers in Loch an Iúir, this time by Orla's Kappa tracksuit. Now my finger's twitching to buy some Adidas Rip Offs or Nike Air Max.

Definitely stealing this for when we deliver #GOALS in #Magherafelt now in June! During the two day course, we explore what success means and it's always a really insightful discussion. I love this angle on it. #WomenBreakingBarriers
#WednesdayWisdom Wishing you success in all the ways ✨

I actually quoted this to a woman today in #Magherafelt Women's Centre!! She was telling herself all the reasons she shouldn't apply for a job & I quoted this. She's coming back to us for one to one guidance on writing that application 💪 #WomenBreakingBarriers @ExploringChange
Have you ever thought like this? Apply now! #GenderGap #Employability #Careers

All of our posters across Northern Ireland should now be down. But we’re only human and even we miss the odd one from time to time. So if you spot a straggler anywhere, let us know via posterwatch@alliancepartyni.org and we’ll get it sorted.

Apparently #EmpoweredWomen also spill coffee on their lovely new mouse mat on its first day... Dammit.

I love that I have been able to kit my wee office out with feminist bits & bobs. Needed a mouse mat and sure doesn't that just perk up the desk no end. Love it 😊 #WomenSupportingWomen #WomenBreakingBarriers

There's something that applies to both rural and urban areas but no one ever talks about- "For the UK alone, carbon emission savings gained by supporting mothers to breastfeed would equate to taking between 50,000 and 77,500 cars off the road each year." imperial.ac.uk/news/193226/e…
Phew! Bus strike averted but for all those political leaders who were quick to call for bus lanes (correct title bus & cycle lanes) to be opened up to car traffic, consider that every day walking & cycling takes up to 77,000 cars off roads in #Belfast #WalkingCyclingIndex

Being an election candidate really adds an extra layer of 'wtf' to your life. For example, heading in for a smear test- 'oh, I didn't recognise you, was expecting you to be blonder from your posters'. You know who I am then, I take it? Marvellous. #WomensHealth #WomenInPolitics

I had a wee Ripple waiting for me in the fridge (HAS to be cold). Saved it for a night I could chill out with a cuppa & was so looking forward to it. GONE 😤 Got myself one yesterday for work today, kept it in the fridge overnight to have it cold. IT HAS FULLY MELTED. Can't cope

We'll be tweeting along with #Eurovision about abortion laws of each of the finalists. We know in Northern Ireland that law does not equal access, so these legal provisions may not result in services, with additional barriers for marginalised people. #Eurovision2022 #ESC2022

Took a wee juke into the Fine & Dandy Market at the #LinenGreen #Dungannon today. We got pens made from reclaimed wood plus some glorious nyums. I finally caught up with @LisaCloverhill and sure, after last week's results, I couldn't not buy this #MidUlster made yellow beaut!

Just realised the count was this day last week! There was one box I tallied that was DUP heavy. I had to take a walk after. I was just incredulous, wondering what the actual f*ck it would take for people to not vote for them. Still wondering.

Everyone else is very articulately describing the situation with the DUP. I just think they need to feck off. They are an absolute embarrassment. If my children behaved spoiled & entitled like that I wouldn't let them away with it. Neither should we let the DUP.

"Also a good result for Claire Hackett in her first election, finishing with 3,181 votes ahead of the UUP, Alliance’s best result in Mid Ulster since 1982." The year I was born!! Obviously I am destined to bring @allianceparty success in #MidUlster 😜
New blog post, took a few days but I've finally written about #AE22, looking at the result for each party and in each constituency, along with many fun electoral facts. jackarmstrong.home.blog/2022…

I'm starting to wonder if Northern Ireland is just a Truman Show type reality show. It's starting to feel like the most realistic explanation for the behaviour of the DUP since Brexit.Actually...I think script writers would dismiss their antics as too unrealistic. So scratch that
