Interested in most retro tech, and 8- and 16-bit computers. Mostly tweet about C64 and Amiga. Should be learning 6502 asm. Messy repairs a speciality.

I see Silent Running is on Legend (Freeview). I was 8 the first time I saw it. Cried like a baby. Marvelous film.

Cover disks? Nah, all of my old computer magazines came with a realistic popup cat.

Puma Computer Shoe, 1986. A microprocessor built into the heel recorded time, distance, and calories. The data could then be downloaded onto an Apple IIE or Commodore 64. bibliogram.fdn.fr/p/CFuo4SRB5M2/

I seem to have a spare Xbox (like you do). I wish I could travel back to 2006 and trade it for an Amiga 500.

Any love out there for The Faery Tale Adventure? I spent a lot of time on this BITD but never finished it. It had its flaws, like taking forever to travel anywhere, but was still absorbing. I should give it another go. Anyone finish it? #Amiga

There is, of course, a detailed retrospective of Microillusions, The Faery Tale Adventure and David Joiner (its author and box art cover model) on The Digital Antiquarian: filfre.net/2015/12/the-faery…

BBC4 right now is Gaming Music at the Proms. I don't recognize any of the music and there isn't a SID chip in sight, so I'm writing to Points of View to complain.

Apparently the first piece was from Chronos on the Spectrum, from 1987. I would never have guessed. I had Chronos on the Spectrum, and like most Speccy music I'm pretty sure it used to sound like a gnat farting in a bowl of custard. (Don't get me wrong, I loved my Speccy.)

40 years ago my dad bought us...a ZX81.* It would be another 5 years until I got my hands on a #C64. *It wasn't so bad - we had a 16K RAM pack and 3D Monster Maze.

Cool interview with the Darling brothers. How cool would it have been to be their younger brother play-testing all the games!
#OnThisDay 1988: Breakfast Time went to rural Warwickshire, where the Darling family (aka Codemasters) was enjoying dizzy-ing success in the field of videogames. 1/2

Just seen someone taking photos with a compact digital camera like it's 2006. #Retro
