Hypothesis: conservatives are the worst economic managers during a time of disruptive change (e.g. the energy transition) because they are overly committed to the status quo. Exhibit #1: Jason Kenney. Exhibit #2: Any CPC MP, but esp. @PierrePoilievre. #ABleg #ABpoli #cdnpoli
Meanwhile, ignoring the global energy transition - and the consequent transformation of the global economy - bearing down on Alberta like a freight train. Aren't conservatives supposed to be the best managers of the economy?

There’s been an official Ray Bradbury Twitter page around for two years, and for some reason I didn’t realize it until today. FYI, fellow RB fans!
#DidYouKnow though Bradbury is known for science fiction, he truly defies such easy characterization. #RayBradbury #Author #ALittleBitOfEverything

Nothing fails regular Canadians quite as effectively, consistently and efficiently as conservatism. It's almost like conservatism was created by the wealthy and powerful to keep them wealthy and powerful at the expense of all others... . . . ...

Ruling Conservative Party in Australia was OUSTED because voters want a plan on Climate Change instead of policies on coal & oil If Conservatives in Canada think NOT having a climate plan can win them power, they are sadly mistaken #cdnpoli

If I was running against Poilievre I would just assume from this rhetoric that he does not think the government should have brought in the CERB or the wage subsidy during COVID, and hang that around his neck
Of course Freeland defends Bank Gov— he’s been an ATM funding 2 yrs of inflationary spending. More $ chasing fewer goods bids up prices so people can’t afford food, fuel & homes. -Replace Gov with one who tackles inflation -Axe inflationary taxes & deficits -Protect our dollar

This. I have been raging, recently, against the endless fact checks and lectures on media literacy. I absolutely think we should castigate politicians for spreading fake news. But it critical we understand where these conspiracy theories come from and why they take root.

Disinformation exists, and it exists mostly to shift the blame of infrastructural decay and resource limitations from the powerful to the powerless. You can call it "information warfare" or "information operations" if you want, but it is real. People are dead because of it.

Covid has claimed more than 1 million American lives—more than any war in our history—and yet we spend about 300-500 times less on our health defense than we do on our military defense.

A lot of Ottawa columnists not picking up on how deeply unpopular Jason Kenney was in Alberta. They have fond memories of his time in Ottawa but whatever charm worked inside the Queensway didn’t translate in the Premier’s Office. I’m writing a piece about this today. #ableg

For the both-siders out there: left-wing extremists were responsible for 4% of extremist-related killings; the right wing was responsible for 75%. adl.org/murder-and-extremism…

There was also that video where JP said feminists have a subconscious desire to be dominated or something. He's educated but unfortunately very, very angry. This video stands as my favorite analysis of JP: invidious.fdn.fr/watch?v=oiGt9Xon…

Remember kids, mental degradation as we age is real. Watch for symptoms like: - ignoring facts and replacing them with your own "alternate reality" - blaming others for your own failings - lashing out with inappropriate anger. Be careful out there.
Facts Goofy celebration of friendly wager. Ignoring the fucked up Arena deal where Flames owners were DONATING more then $300M to the world class #EventCenter that was shovel ready until ⁦@JyotiGondek⁩ and Steven ⁦@carter_AB⁩ blew up the deal. With stupid demands.

A fascinating and sober analysis by an on-air Russian military expert of the strategic disaster facing Putin. Putin’s rash decisions have put Russia in a position of grave peril.
In an extremely rare moment of candour on Russian state TV today, defence columnist Mikhail Khodaryonok gave a damning assessment of Russia's war in Ukraine and his country's international isolation. It's fairly long but worth your time so I've added subtitles.

Bank of England officials just told the Treasury Committee they are VERY worried about Long Covid! "Falling participation in the labour market is not a lack of job opportunities, but a rise in long term sickness linked to the pandemic. The issue of Long Covid is very serious."
