Abortion for *lethal* fetal anomalies is now *illegal* in Ohio   I’m a high-risk obstetrician here. I diagnose birth defects   So some point soon I may look someone in the eyes & say that they, against their will, will carry to term, undergo delivery & then have their child die

Ohio residents voted for non-gerrymandered maps and they didn’t happen. Not sure if people could have voted any harder in Ohio or other parts of the country.

Please do not allow ignorant legislators dictate how you practice evidenced based healthcare. Your patients deserve the best care

You and other MDs may soon decide to relocate on moral grounds. These red states aren’t going to have many docs sticking around for this nonsense. Maybe they can fill the positions with unqualified people like they do in education.

Or travel to another state. No law against suggesting that.

You do realize it takes money, time, and connections to “just” go to another state. You might want to sit this one out if you can’t be constructive.

And that is not going to impact mentally a person at all. With our huge mental support in our healthcare system, this will be just another cherry on top. 🤬

I’m so sorry :(. A friend was told that there was a chromosomal disorder inkompatible with life. Another told there were a lethal neuro tubal defect, also incompatible with life. I’ve never been pregnant, but the grief, just heart breaking.

And isn't this typically happening to people who chose pregnancy , but now pregnancy is not going to be successful I thought forced birthers still allowed life of mother in danger exceptions I guess death is the point

Or you could refer out of state, try to perform and ask some lawyers to sue under a new legal theory... there are alternatives

It take me money and time and resources for the patient to go out of state. Some may be able to, some won’t.
