The generosity of our parents, carers, students and staff today is simply overwhelming. We are looking forward to handing all these items over to @YorkFoodbank next week so they can distribute them to help families in the lead up to Christmas.

I really do not care if you have been a Tory voter since God was a boy but surely in the name of if nothing else common sense would you continue to vote for such an evil, corrupt, inhumane party as the Tories? What does that say about you🤬

After Bexley the future for the Tories is a little less certain. The appearance of any viable opposition, even a Reform UK one, is a big worry for them. Labour still has a long way to go to become a convincing alternative. theguardian.com/commentisfre…

This is the heavy price we pay for Frost's brinkmanship. As usual it gives EU businesses a major competitive advantage. But that's Brexit through and through. When will people wake up to the deceit of Brexit?
FT: The US is delaying a deal to remove Trump-era tariffs on British steel & aluminium because of Washington’s fears over London’s threats to trigger Article 16.

Calls to bring back Jeremy only keeps alive the factionlism that has destroyed Labour's prospects of ever forming a government. Forget Corbyn. His time is over. Let him form his own party to support Hamas and Hezbollah who he famously once called his "friends".

Here’s exactly why Priti Patel should be worried:

Patel's worst nightmare come true. Having to face attack dog Yvette Cooper daily, instead of just now and then in the Home Affairs Committee :)))))

Totally unnecessary tweet. Yvette Cooper will be excellent against Priti Patel. David Lammy too. We oppose the Tories , and don't look back. People want strong opposition.
Reviving the careers of former Blairite ministers & simply reappointing existing Shadow Cabinet ministers to new posts does give the impression of Christmas Past not Christmas Future. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/b…

I asked the Home Secretary to withdraw the dangerous Nationality and Borders Bill. She refused to withdraw the Bill. The Government must provide safe routes, or lives will continue to be at risk in the Channel.

Great when a qualified doctor MP stands up and tells off Tory backbenchers for not wearing masks and explains why the PM doesn't set an example in a hospital. @sajidjavid has a go for her "tone", the prick.

It's crazy to think that if the Black Death appeared in England today, about 20% of the population would be out there licking rats.

I know you’re exhausted: from working on the front-line in hospitals & clinics or on rapid data analysis; from the never-ending news cycle of alpha-delta-omicron & worry about restrictions & impact on your mental health & business. Just to say that I see you. It’s *really* hard.

William Hague spells out home truths with extraordinary explicitness. Johnson/Patel’s narrow nationalism goes nowhere- a self-defeating dead end. The tide is turning. Nationalism is bankrupt and has no answers thetimes.co.uk/article/f9779…

I can’t say it’s the same for all of them obviously but the latest tragic victim to be named initially caught a plane at Irbil airport in Kurdistan. There are a number of flights there from London and Manchester presumably all returning with passengers and spare seats.
