The Ladykillers (1955) dir. Alexander Mackendrink One of the funniest British movies of all time, Mackendrick's last Ealing comedy is a true classic and despite the years, the humour still hits the spot. #comedy #film #cinema #movies 😆🇬🇧🎬

The best movie going experience of my life. Yes, it’s a flawed film but it was mind blowing for the 11 year old version of me in 1989. Mr. Mom played Batman and was incredible in the role. And Jack Nicholson was completely nuts.

#OTD Michael Curtiz's Angels with Dirty Faces (1938) had its US release. James Cagney and Pat O'Brien star as two childhood friends who after an attempted robbery go down different life paths; the former becomes a notorious gangster while the latter becomes a priest.

A really good example of how set design, casting, and art direction can save a mediocre script. Though it will never lose its charm, Batman dealing w/ a writer's strike crippled huge chunks of its characters' development and pacing. Enjoyable but also very awkward at times.

I know one could argue Nolan's Batman films are inherently better, but this is the one I cherish the most. I love it so, so much.

Arguably the kick start to the Superhero blockbuster in the 'modern era' confirming these films weren't just for comic book fans.
