Many people with LC have low or no infection-specific antibodies even in those with confirmed infection. Also depends on timing.

No free covid testing means if you develop #LongCovid then neither you nor your doctor would be sure covid was the cause because you didn’t have access to a test in the acute phase. While people who can afford to buy private tests can be sure. Health inequality pure and simple.

My aunt didn't get a PCR test and is now experiencing LC symptoms. Her insurance company is refusing to cover her because "she doesn't have proof that she had COVID." The at home test doesn't qualify.

Loving your profession does not equal defending its wrongs. Quite the opposite.

I get the sentiment, but these are masks worn for health reasons not burkas or niqaab. A bit confusing.

Always wrong to set high expectations of catching up on work during the weekend, then feel guilty for not achieving them and instead, erm, actually use the weekend for what’s it’s for: relaxing!

Of course I’m not really relaxing if I’m feeling guilty about relaxing…

Many of us were raised being told that to be grateful means not complaining, so we grow up feeling guilty and uncomfortable when talking about equality and deservedness. Keep telling yourself you can have both gratitude and a voice to flag unfairness. No contradiction there.

I see absolutely no need to drop the term #LongCovid. It’s a general umbrella term yes, but so are the names of so many other health conditions. The difference? People who personally experienced it came up with this one and continued using it. I see dropping it as a power move.

Remember those public health vs the economy debates & headlines in 2020-21 when we were saying #CountLongCovid? Well here goes an answer from none other than the Bank of England. The quotes below are from a speech by Michael Saunders, Monetary Policy Committee Member: 1/5

I guess I’m thinking beyond a brief role play encounter.
