Friday meditation: Faith isn’t faith if you only have it in the light. Faith is that thing that moves your feet forward in the darkness. The invisible hand that holds you up when you are sure you have fallen for the last time.

I applaud @APAPsychiatric for their acknowledgement of racism in psychiatry. That said, admitting that you have a problem is the first step. I repeat: the FIRST step. I, and all black psychiatrists, are watching. #BlackMentalHealth #snma #nma
Today, APA is taking an important step in addressing racism in psychiatry. We are beginning the process of making amends for both direct and indirect acts of racism in psychiatry, we apologize for our contributions to structural racism and pledge enacting anti-racist practices.

I want to speak directly to the Black women in our country. Thank you. You are too often overlooked, and yet are asked time and again to step up and be the backbone of our democracy. We could not have done this without you.

This Election Day, everything is on the line. Our jobs. Our health care. Whether or not we get this pandemic under control. But here’s the good news: today, you can choose change. You can elect @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris. Let’s win this thing.

We stand in solidarity with your vulnerability Mrs. Obama. We know it's ok not to be ok during the Covid and racial pandemics. Let's talk about it and validate one another. chicagotribune.com/columns/h… #psychtwitter #blackpsychiatrists
