My fiancé and I are childless, but I intentionally call us two a “family” to interrogate the myth that “starting a family” requires children.

So: I have an aunt, a dad, a cousin, and a partner. A best friend of 38 years. But I don’t have kids. Would you say I have no family? What about when my dad dies? Then I’m not a parent & both parents are dead. This definition is illogical.

There are two types of family. - Nuclear Family - Extended Family What you have is an extended family and not a nuclear family. Again.... Try Again!

You conveniently left of the rest of the definition. If there is a 1 there is at least a 2.

Of course he did. This is the most attention he’s probably had in his feeble little life. Anyone who would put this kind of energy into trying tell someone else they’re not a family is telling you everything you need to know about his own.

Its about to be 2021 the year of "stop the Bullshit". We learned in 2017 (some of us earlier than others) that definitions change i.e. racism, privilege. The definition of Family has been changing for a very long time. It's what you make it. Everyone knows that but you?

I think this definition is overly restrictive, but they still meet it. The set containing a couple and all their children is a family by this definition. For a couple who have zero children, that family is two people.

I’m sorry you’re triggered by the idea that a family doesn’t have to include children. Try being more inclusive next time 👍
