Am I nuts? So many couples whose weddings I attended are getting divorced. But I remember the vows, which we were there to witness, right? How come I feel betrayed? They're happily going their separate ways & I'm here thinking, "Hey! You said you'd never leave!"

The most expensive wedding gift I bought was several pieces of an insanely expensive china pattern for a male friend's new wife. We went there for dinner & ate on paper plates LOL. When she left she took it all. I wished I could have said, "Leave him the pieces I bought."

You are not nuts, nor have you been betrayed. People may have meant their vows when they said them. It is wonderful that you and Bill remain happily married, so you can be grateful for this blessing.

I agree.. even if we know a union will not last, we go to support our family and friends. I am divorced znd those who attended did not feel betrayed and were there to support me through a difficult time.

Exactly why I've never married. I can't stand in front of family and friends and vow to stay with a person till I die cuz I might not. People don't stay the same forever. They grow mentally and emotionally. Its human nature. Feelings change too. Save yourself the lawyer fees.
