We need to normalize NOT visiting new mammas after delivering a child. Whether pandemic or not, why do that to a new mamma? She’s tired, stressed and needs rest. It’s just a ridiculous practice and unnecessarily rude. The mamma can make the decision once she’s home and rested.
5 days postpartum and me and my newborn both have Covid because a family member assured me that they just had “allergies” after they came to see her and held her in the hospital. I’m worried as fuck about my baby, she’s literally only 5 days old and did not deserve this

I just witnessed an unconscious woman being raped at the corner of Toulouse & Royal in New Orleans. Two @NOPDNews officers drove by yet ignored the situation. I called 911 and flagged down a third officer. The officer chose not respond and maintained his place on the next corner.
