#OnThisDay 1998: Quentin Willson looked at the origins of the Rover P5B - the official transport of the establishment from the late sixties to the early eighties. He even got to drive the Queen's very own P5B.

NEW: Martin Forde, the KC asked by Keir Starmer to write a report on Labour's culture (that Keir ignored), breaks his silence, saying there's a hierarchy of racism under Starmer: "Anti-black racism, Islamophobia, isn’t taken as seriously as antisemitism." invidious.fdn.fr/watch?v=tiODoWur…

The Home Secretary, on the face of this Bill, invites Parliament to rip up international law. The only act of a Parliament that has any kind of moral integrity is to rip up her illegal & immoral Bill, which has no place on our statute book. #StopTheBill #RefugeeBanBill @JCWI_UK

Worth bearing in mind, this is what the BBC said to me in 2020 when Andrew Neil was being a shouty, right-wing pile on orchestrator on Twitter. Compare and contrast.

There is no need to have a debate on Gary Lineker. Two words - ‘Andrew Neil’ - means this is an open and shut case. The BBC allowed its main politics presenter to run a hard right magazine, and espouse right wing opinions on social media. There’s nothing more to say on this!

This is outrageous. Andrew Neil and many other BBC presenters - who, like @GaryLineker, were *not* BBC staff - said and did much more than Lineker did, and no such censure took place.
Full @GaryLineker statement. - BBC considers his social media remarks a breach of guidelines - BBC told Lineker to step off MoTD duties until agreement on social media use - Have told Lineker he should keep away from “taking sides” on party political/controversial issues

BBC have just announced Gary Lineker will not be presenting MOTD until he comes to an agreement on his social media usage. Note how the elite are always harsher on those fighting racism than those espousing racist views.

So, Gary Lineker cant do his job talking about football because he called out fascist government policy, on his personal Twitter. But Fiona Bruce can keep her job talking about politics, after excusing an ex prime ministers dad for being a violent domestic abuser, on national TV?

Tells you everything you need to know about Britain today when one of the most mainstream, inoffensive voices on TV is seen by some in the establishment as some sort of Che Guevara. Imagine how many genuine qusstioners of the current state of nation are silenced.

Barely a week goes by without a @BBCr4today presenter sneering at trans people. Hard to avoid the conclusion that what Gary Lineker has actually done wrong is punch in the wrong direction - he's punched up. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-64920557

This is genuinely the most revolting thing I’ve seen on the bbc for a while. Alibhai Brown raises Stanley Johnson assaulting his wife (he broke her nose) & Fiona Bruce cites his friends saying it was a ‘one off’. A feudal media elite in a modern country.

The elephant in the room the Government doesn’t want to mention is that the skyrocketing rise in small boat crossings is in large part a consequence of the Brexit deal championed by both the Prime Minister & the Home Secretary & now they plan to use it to trample on human rights
