Here we go again... 🙄 Interest 'payable' was £17.3bn. But £13.7bn was the RPI uplift on the principal value of index-linked bonds, and therefore £ that will only be paid out in dribs and drabs over decades. The amount actually paid out in December itself was more like £3.6bn.
Horrific public finance figures this morning. Plus two thirds of Government’s total monthly borrowing - £17.3bn - was in debt interest. Close to double the entire Home Office annual budget, in just one month, gone in a blink.

A clear explanation of the ease with which Retained EU Law may be dealt with. A competent law firm could do it in a month, surely the civil service could beat that?
Honoured to be invited on to discuss law and the practicality of reviewing Retained EU Law Fellow lawyers should guess instantly the legal subscription service that I stoically refuse to name Ultimately what is proposed is pretty undramatic
