Mike Quill, originally from County Kerry, was a Volunteer in the IRA from 1919-1921 and later a founder of the Transport and General Workers Union in America, named after the Irish Transport and General Workers' Union. He met Dr Martin Luther King at the TWU Union Hall in 1964.
