Just finished a run of ITU shifts and really sad to say COVID is very much not going away. Half our ITU beds filled with COVID patients which is having a serious impact on our ability to deliver other services. Majority coming to ITU aren’t vaccinated. Please #GetVaccinated

Can you answer me this question, You have two people, one vaxxed (1) and one unvaxxed (2) Both people can catch COVID and spread it. Now person number 3 is vaxxed for their own protection. How can the unvaxxed person (2) be a risk to person 3, And Person 2 isn’t a risk.??

I’m not sure I completely understand your question? Are you asking whether person 2 is a risk to others or not? The thing that’s impacting my day-to-day work is people still becoming critically ill from COVID. That’s pushing our ITU capability beyond its usual limits and is…

… threatening our ability to care for others. The majority of those in ITU beds with COVID haven’t been vaccinated. That decision has sadly not only contributed to their current illness but also indirectly impacted others.

Because if you're vaccinated you're less likely to catch it (hence less likely to spread it to someone vaccinated/ unvaccinated/or can't be vaccinated due to medical reasons). Less virus circulating reduces risk of new mutations. This protection wanes over time, may need booster

Less likely to catch it if your vaccinated? Pretty sure this isn’t true, hence the numbers are much higher now compared to same time last year.
