All the organizing we’ve done to push politicians is coming to a pivotal point. Are Democrats willing to tell their communities they denied them climate action? Immigration reform? Care? Renewable energy? We will win, but only if conservative Dems do their job & side with us.

Please share this with anyone — including essentially every person talking about it on TV — who doesn't understand that $3.5 trillion for the Build Back Better agenda over the next decade is not a HUGE SCARY AMOUNT but just 1.2% of US GDP: invidious.fdn.fr/VEWa8M5bh6o

Chair of @USProgressives, @RepJayapal: “[Biden] said don’t start with the number. Start with what you’re for. […] I gave my number. It was 3.5 [trillion]. So if you’re in a negotiation, you need to have a counteroffer before you bid against yourself.” talkingpointsmemo.com/news/n…

Folks have long wondered whether progressives would ever flex. When they finally did last night, they didn't look like the "Tea Party of the Left"—by design. "This isn't progressives blowing something up,” @RepHuffman said. They're "sticking to the deal." motherjones.com/politics/202…

Sat down with @ryangrim yesterday and discussed my experience in New Jersey’s sometimes rough and tumble politics and how it prepared me to fight for progressive values in the House. And how the @USProgressives caucus stood up (and together) for Biden’s Build Back Better agenda.

However, the claim the CPC had “one substantive achievement” in the 116th congress—drug pricing—overlooks the CPC’s key role in consolidating unanimous Democratic support and passing the first War Powers Resolution in history, to end the unconstitutional U.S.-Saudi war in Yemen.

There seems to be some misinformation out there. @potus did not ask to bring reconciliation down to $2 trillion. He said build a budget around policy. There was no firm number.

Mood coming out of room is Biden clearly came down on the side of Team Progressive. In other words: No call for immediate passage of infra. Both bills needs to pass. No rush. Moderates seems peeved. @RepJimCosta said he was "disappointed."

Voters have lost faith their elected representatives will fight for them. They're sick of watching their interests get rolled by corporations. They're tired of nothing changing in their daily lives. They deserve something better — and we're in this fight to deliver it.

By allowing one bill to advance without the Build Back Better Act alongside it, we leave behind childcare, paid leave, health care, climate action, education, and a roadmap to citizenship. We're not going to leave working people, families, and our communities behind.
“I do not think the infrastructure bill is going to come to a vote tonight,” says Democratic Rep. Pramila Jayapa, a key progressive. “If I had to bet I would say that there is not going to be vote tonight,” she adds.
