I don’t typically whine at cons but there’s a vendor near my table saying “would you like to hear about my comic? A literally every single person walking by. If you come by and I look distracted it’s bc I have headphones and loud music playing. Just vibing for unrelated reasons.

I made the linework in @Procreate then printed it onto 300# watercolor paper for the final. Digging into those details was soooo delicious!

I painted this in late November 2020 for @evanescence in about two weeks. It took about 60 hours and I loved every moment of it. I was at a very low point in the pandemic and yes, you can say it did “wake me up inside.” lol. Anyhow, I believe @AmyLeeEV owns the original!

After Uvalde, the collective shock, horror, and grief had me immobilized for the following week. I had a panic attack at one point, because I felt helpless to protect my own child and terrified that this oft-repeated tragedy might reach us one day. My heart shattered as a parent.

I KNEW it was only a matter of time before Nashville had its own mass shooting. The ingredients are aplenty here. Sent my kid to school anyway, bc what other choice do we have? These children deserve to learn in peace and without fear - they’ve already lost SO much to Covid.

My child turned 9 on Monday, the same age as the young victims. Third graders. They didn’t even get to finish kindergarten and likely spent 1st grade on a computer like mine did. They deserved better, and so did their surviving classmates.

I am tired of fearing the worst and watching it happen… again and again and again. My heart is broken for my community, for the families affected, and for the rest of us who know our state’s leadership will do nothing bc they’re funded by the NRA. I feel hopeless, I really do.
