“Save £30bn on each new project”? Even with the massive cost overruns, Hinckley Point C won’t cost £30bn. Is someone paying the UK to make new nuclear power stations?

Chances are the current Nuclear power stations planned and being built will never work. Several countries refusing accreditation to EDF design. Massive overspends and design flaws. Let's throw more of our tax money at your mates!

The key one to look out for is the RR small modular proposal - based on the reactors that propelled the polaris subs about decades ago. Nothing newfangled, just basic tech that works.

Didn't France make this strategic decision in 1973 with the Messmer plan, and now produces 70.6% of it's electricity production from 56 nuclear reactors? Better late than never, eh?
