Trying out a different method of level building. Been dying to map out the first area. Really quite liking the scale of it all so far. Also got some water and footstep sfx going too. #indiedev #gamedev #godotengine #b3d #lowpoly

Essentially constructing everything in Blender. Improved my tools so I can (nearly) one-click import everything and have it apply materials, collision etc.

Did the Shadow Man / Turok Blender tools we talked about previously, inspire you in some way to make this change in your workflow?

Definitely. I have been feeling very limited in terms of planning levels and areas as well as building them with the desired aesthetic. Also, I've filled in knowledge gaps for creating a quick and efficient workflow.

Funny, as I've just came back from making everything in Blender to assembling the levels in Godot again. Both techniques definitely have their advantages. Still neither of them feel like a great way to do this. I really envy the capabilities of UE's editor

I feel this 100%. My previous games were fairly limited in level size so I got on okay with my modular kits. I'm wanting to have larger areas with more uniqueness, hence trying my Blender workflow again.
