I was going to write about some of the latest news but, honestly, between SCOTUS, the school shooting, and “Donald did something shocking but not surprising,” I’m not quite up to it. Please post some pictures of art that gets you through tough times. marytrump.substack.com/p/hel…

This is fantastic news. Welcome to the @TeamLPAC board. We are so very lucky to have you!
Some personal news: I'm incredibly honored to join @MaryLTrump, @hilaryr, @rpbp, and other phenomenal queer women on @TeamLPAC's all-volunteer Board of Directors. Story exclusive by @i_oriion for @19thnews. A few quick thoughts... (short thread) 19thnews.org/2021/12/lpac-tr…

Posting this for no particular reason: “General criminal statutes, such as reckless endangerment and attempted murder, can be used to criminalize behaviors that can potentially expose another to HIV and or an STD.”

Apologies for getting this wrong--and thanks to everybody who set me straight. There is a Select Committee on the Coronavirus Crisis chaired by Rep. Clyburn. Question, though: Why did so few of us know about it?
Why isn't there a select committee looking into the last administration's criminal mishandling of COVID-19 that resulted in the unnecessary deaths of 100s of thousands of Americans?

The hits just keep on coming . . .
Most depressing story I've awoken to in a long time. Looks like new vaccines will probably be necessary. "All the scientists I've talked to are like...this is not going to be good." ft.com/content/27def1b9-b9c8…

NYC doesn't require vaccination, but makes it very hard to participate in public life without one. Hence the adult vax rate is nearing 90% and COVID mortality rate is very low.

We were in Amsterdam for a conference, one panel to discuss how we got into the mess we’re currently in, another to discuss where we can find hope. You might be able to guess which panel had the easier task. (Hint: it was mine)

I also spend some time contemplating the bizarre fact that all of Joe Biden’s significant accomplishments—the lowest unemployment rate in 52 years! Child poverty cut in half!—are bad for Democrats.
