Gavin Newsom's new TV ad slamming Ron DeSantis is best understood as an effort to fill a serious vacuum in the Democratic Party: The lack of leaders making a comprehensive case about right wing radicalization degrading our national life on so many fronts. washingtonpost.com/opinions/…

I think it’s best understood as an opening salvo in what Gov. Newsom hopes will be the 2024 general election race.

Just like he signed up for Truth Social just in case it's Trump. His team has good vision and messaging. The White House could learn a lot from what he's been doing in the last few weeks. He's already even in odds with Harris to win the Dem nom, lol

Just got this email. Very aggressive messaging. I love that he seems ready to fight the culture wars
Email I just got from Gavin Newsom. This guy is not playing around.

It's smart. He needs to put up ads in all the red states.

I really hope he runs. An incumbent has like no chance with the economy the way that it is and no one from the White House is channeling the rage people feel right now. You have the moment, use it FFS.

Good I hope he does join the '24 race. We need someone who will actually fight and not make a deal with McConnell to nominate a federalist society, anti-abortion candidate for a lifetime federal judge appointment.

I hope so. Gavin is one of the few who can take these bluff and bluster guys on. It is hard for me to understand how people do not immediately see through Trump & DeSantis, but since that is the case, straight-talking, always factual Newsom is a welcome development.
