Totally agree with this and its the same for writing: “If you want to get one hour of good painting in, you have to have four hours of uninterrupted time.” David Lynch

Beauty & decay in the photo-experiments of Frederick Sommer (1905-99). Sommer first discovered photographic art in 1931 after being diagnosed with tuberculosis. His art is a merging of surrealism with the older tradition of memento mori.

"Progress City" - Disney's retro Utopia. Walt Disney created a "dream for an experimental prototype community of tomorrow,” with his 6,900-square-foot model of a future city (1967-1973) The model sank into disrepair but still exists in reduced form.

Thought-Cam. In 1893, Nikola Tesla planned to capture the brain's thoughts & project them onto walls. He was "convinced that a definite image formed in thought must, by reflex action, produce a corresponding image on the retina, which might possibly be read by suitable apparatus"

The claim that the Google A.I (LaMDA) has become sentient & self aware - is media hysteria. There are three types of A.I : - Narrow - General - Super Right now our Big Tech pioneers are stuck at "Narrow" & are nowhere near Super Intelligence, let alone sentience. Pic: Ex Machina

Our culture is stuck in a stagnant time of reboots, remakes, sequels and prequels. We really need to hear authentic, original, challenging stories - otherwise we doom young creative people to merely recycling, aping and attempting to repeat the previous generations' successes.

"Land of the Giants" - another Sci-Fi series from the 60s that could be revived. It aired on ABC for two seasons from 1968 to 1970. In the story a spaceship of earthlings lands on a planet of Giants that is almost identical to the USA of 1968, but bigger & more authoritarian.

Concept art for "The Time Tunnel" - the ill fated TV series ran on ABC for only one season of 30 episodes from 1966 to 1967. To date, three attempts have been made to resurrect the show. Two produced a pilot episode, and another got no further than a B-Movie. Great concept though

Here is your eternity pod. 146 cryogenically frozen people are being kept in storage in the Arizona desert waiting for science to resurrect them. The Alcor Life Extensions Foundation charges around $2,00,000 for the entire process.

TechnoCalyps. A 2006 documentary on transhumanism asks: "whether human beings will use discoveries in genetics, robotics, nanotechnology, and artificial intelligence to enhance their bodies and minds." The question 16-years-on is no longer "whether" - but "Can we control it?"
