To those determined to close their eyes to Forde Report findings on factional abuse of antisemitism allegations in @UKLabour, here's a leading Jewish activist having to defend himself against new attacks: jewishvoiceforlabour.org.uk/…
Useful to have the scary stuff familiar to many of us given a wider hearing, but disingenuous to stop short of acknowledging how antisemitism allegations were - and continue to be - turned against anyone not totally invested in the leadership's political direction.

My analysis of how Starmer's right-wing team have taken a tight grip on the selection process and excluded almost anyone from the Left: unherd.com/2022/12/starmers-…

We need Jess and other decent comrades on the NEC, otherwise we'll be denied vital info like this thread. I'd be there with them if I hadn't been suspended!
Today I attended (virtually) the Labour NEC away day, where key issues around the Forde Report and Equalities were decided. Sadly, it was another bad day for democracy and anti-racism in Labour. THREAD 🧵

The state of these front pages... The evil Express pitting migrants against veterans, the Torygraph bashing the NHS and nurses, the Mirror dumbing down with #ImACelebrity, and the Observer still banging on about Brexit. Without Alt Media and social media, this would be our lot.

Please share! 🙏Activists in Germany involved in Jewish Voice for a Just Peace in the Middle East (Jüdische Stimme) made this recording of Caryl Churchill's 2009 play "7 Jewish Children" in protest against withdrawal of her Lifetime Achievement Prize. 1/3 invidious.fdn.fr/watch?v=GXK50sU2…

The play was written in response to Israel's three-week military operation against Gaza in December 2008 and January 2009, which killed dozens of Palestinian children. It has been cited as evidence of antisemitism to justify rescinding Churchill's European Drama Prize 2022. 2/3

Excellent to see @Channel4News giving rare attention to Palestinian reality.

It's also unbearable to watch. I marvel at people who claim to stand up for human rights around the world but are silent about repeated incidents like this. History will judge all those PEPs - Progressive Except for Palestine.
It's called ethnic cleansing

💯with Em @emtravelodge Hilton. Baddiel blocks us as Jews from conversing about racism as "partners with a shared desire for safety, freedom and justice. Where does that leave us? In the arms of the right." newstatesman.com/quickfire/2…

Apart from the significance of this unanimous jury verdict for @Pal_action, their case is important for everyone concerned about government threats to the right to protest.
Breaking: Palestine Action activists have been found NOT GUILTY of conspiracy to criminal damage this morning. The jury verdict in their first Crown Court case came unanimously after only 93 minutes of deliberation.

But of course no one is trying to silence Palestinians and those who campaign in solidarity with them....
My graduation from @sheffhallamuni was emotionally confusing knowing that SHU helped persistent attempts at silencing & demonising me. Here's my response to the JC's manipulative coverage that directed more hate & racism towards me. Palestine won't be silenced. #InSupportofShahd

Does the IHRA WDA protect Jews against antisemitism? Not according to this thread. Does it negatively impact Palestinians' right to talk about their oppression? Judge for yourself.
Thank you again. No contradiction should exist between combating antisemitism & defending Palestinian rights, but that is what the IHRA WDA creates. Defending Palestinian rights implies challenging the state oppressing them - which the IHRA WDA shields.
