Good evening everyone, it's the last few hours of the weekend now, before it's Monday again and we all hate to raise from our beds for the start of the week! Have a good sleep everyone, and for those in a school setting I believe the half term is coming soon! 👍

It's time for my honest opinion on windows 11, I've used it since about the day it came out, and after posting my original first impressions, and using the OS for some time now, it's time to go over what I've found and my advice (see thread 👇)...

First of, don't install windows 11, if you haven't already AT LEAST NOT YET. Now let me explain, it's in short a minor visual refresh of Win 10, with a bunch of noticeable bugs. The home screen and lock screen have changed and so has the settings menu, but aside from that...

... There aren't too many things that set it apart from windows 10. I had to upgrade to make sure all my applications where still supported and functional, but if I could I'd roll back (although it's been more than my 10 days)....

... You can upgrade to provide usage and error reports back to @Microsoft about the update, but a large amount of the issues around the new OS aren't the stuff that's picked up in error messages (like when windows crashes)....

... So I'd not consider this a valid reason. There are SO many bugs in the new OS that's its really conserning, especially considering the fact that there is so little that has changed graphically (although the graphics themselves I can't fault, they are really nice)...

... And I'm not even starting on the issues with AMD systems, I've got a wide range of systems, from low spec Intel and AMD to top of the line servers, and I can say that the ones I can upgrade have experienced some slight performance drops, although most are minor...

... The Ryzen CPUs I've tested have all experienced a greater share of performance drops, especially the ones widely covered by the important news articles, but it's all around just not as fluid as Windows 10 was...

... I think I know why this is, now these are just theories but I think there are a few reasons, (1), this is simply a new OS, this is likely from all very new OS's. (2), Windows 11 was created very quickly, which is partly why there have been so many bugs, but also so...

... Few features that I've observed, and finally (3) @Microsoft have been partnering very closely with Intel on their new technologies, but I hope they don't forget the... 99.999% of the world that doesn't have that technology yet, and a large amount probably never will...

... Now the theories I've just discussed are just that, yes I am aware on a small amount of information, and I've done a lot of testing myself to back this. And any of this is just my opinion, feel free to go against that, but in a different page, I feel....

... That windows 11 has a lot of potential, and all new software will have a shaky start and we will just have to bear with @Microsoft as they sort it out, in fact some of the issues with performance where fixed on the new "patch Tuesday", and by publishing these issues....

... And describing the problems in feedback forms to @Microsoft will really help, I'm a developer myself and the more information I can have on a bug the better it is to recreate and fix, id hold off upgrading to Windows 11 for a few weeks (or months) but it....
