Windows + birds = a recipe for disaster ☹. But making your windows more obvious to birds can reduce collisions. You can protect your garden birds by cutting out the stencil below and sticking it in your window to give birds plenty of warning that they need to avoid the glass πŸ’š.

Just look at these brilliant little balls of fluff 😍. Long-tailed tits are common garden visitors, most often seen in flocks twittering excitedly. They simply radiate the 'aww' factor. Have you seen any recently?

As a bit of Friday fun, we’ve been coming up with more accurate names for some of our favourite birds. Bittern: Secretive Reed Chicken Ruff: Meryl Cheep Barn owl: almost Hedwig European shag: literally anything else. What can you come up with?

Great work by @Campaign4Parks supporting peatland restoration, an end to burning and a ban on peat use in horticulture.
We are calling for greater action to protect #peatlands in #NationalParks; more conservation and restoration work, along with a ban on burning as a land management technique, a ban on peat use in horticulture and a ban on disposable BBQs. Find out more > cnp.org.uk/news/campaign-nat…

Caught on camera πŸ“·: an invisible rail, one of many unusually-named species of rail in the world. Take for instance the spotless crake or the inaccessible island rail. There's even a snoring rail πŸ’€. We were lucky enough to snap the elusive invisible rail when it wasn't looking.

Starlings are downright AMAZING (and we don't just say that as bird lovers) 🀩. Swooping across the sky with their aerial displays, the shapes and sounds they create are simply breath-taking. But why do starlings murmurate? ➑ bit.ly/why-starlings-murmura…
