How do we as leftists deal w/ the contradiction of the importance of vaccines vs the need to challenge the pharmaceutical monopolies? @FarmingPathogen does a great job answering this in my latest: invidious.fdn.fr/pIhKzUnWEas?t=3455 (check out the time codes in the description for topics)

There's no contradiction. Even in the ghastly US health system, you'd go to the hospital if you were injured and get treatment from the doctors. Refusing medicine isn't "sticking it to The Man", it's just dumb.

I think you completely skewered her point or just tried very hard to miss the point...

Dear Rania, regarding the antivaxxers’ fear for vac. may have come from their distrust in the government agencies like FDA in US may be funded by big Pharma cos. Please check this out.

All of this back and forth about boosters seems to me too illustrate how much pressure is being applied by pharma in the decision making process. The medical professionals are skeptical the politicians adamant. Why would that be? 🤔

Some things can't be balanced. Sometimes one has to decide which is the greater evil, and then oppose it, or not.

Thank you SO MUCH for airing this. At a time when COVID is exposing so many "leftists" to be libertarians or just contrarians-for-the-$$, this was much needed for explaining that multiple overlapping measures and a for-the-common-good approach are needed.
