Fun Fact - If you change your location in explore locations to somewhere quiet (Falklands is suggested), you don't get the usual trends stuff on the top right. nitter.fdn.fr/settings/explore I now live in blissful ignorance of celebrity statuses. 😊

To get the front to sit flush, I need 4.2mm smoked acrylic. It only comes in 3mm (too thin.) Or 6mm (both too thick and too dark). I've made an arbour and will turn some 6mm down to the right thickness on the lathe. 🙂

They're the right thickness and roughly the right size. I made few spares just in case. Now I need to sand them to the right dimensions to fit the ashtray hole. 🙂

That's close enough. I'm going to take a couple of practice runs before I cut the ports as I'm down to 5 blanks due to over enthusiastic sanding. 🙂

Got it roughly right first time and spray masked the back. I'll bond it when the paint dries. I'll also swap that ball out with a black one. 🙂

Fitting the internal Goteks went well, so well I did it twice. Those knobs look daft but it'll work until I get some parts and do it properly. ☺️

The teeny trackball is much nicer than the knob. There's nearly enough room to get a flush usb port in there too. 🙂

I'm still waiting for Gotek parts to arrive so I sorted the deep scratches on the other Beeb. I sanded a wide area with 1000 grit until the marks were gone, then finished with 2500 grit and plastic polish. ☺️

I got Magic Mushrooms working from the SD card! I still want to use a FlashFloppy device as it's more intuitive to use but it'll certainly do for now. 🙂

DFS fitted, Gotek flashed with FlashFloppy, and configured - Magic Mushrooms loads! 🥳 I should probably find a neater solution but I have an idea or two about that... 🤔

I have a temporary solution for the control panel in the works, I also got the other Beeb loading from a Gotek on the original DFS so I'll make two while I'm at it. 😊
