Happy Birthday Robert Burns! Scotland’s national bard was a humanitarian and internationalist whose work echoes around the world. We believe he would have given people seeking sanctuary a warm Scottish Welcome.

People paying their taxes is not a story. Using an offshore structure to try to avoid tax, when tax was actually due, getting caught, denying it, suing people who talk about it, and secretly settling with HMRC? That's a story.
"People paying their taxes is not a story" Levelling Up Secretary Michael Gove says he believes HMRC has "no quibble" with Tory Chairman Nadhim Zahawi after newspaper claims that he agreed to pay millions of pounds to settle his tax affairs bbc.in/3XCC7zO | #R4Today

Thames Side Brewery’s White Swan Pale Ale is now on tap in Parliament! I was delighted to successfully bid for beer brewed in Spelthorne to be served in Parliament. Yesterday, I joined Andrew Hayward, the owner of Thames Side Brewery, to pull a pint of his renowned ale.
Our MP is making the news again. Interesting that he claimed £20k+ in expenses in 21/22 to pay his wife as a “researcher”, and she has a company that pays him as a 2nd job with alleged tax benefits according to Sky News… 🤔

If you are the unarmed black man who the police drew guns on while you were sitting in your parked car on U St. in Washington, DC, I recorded the whole thing if you need the video. Please RT so he can find this and see it. He didn’t deserve that at all.

Seems like any young girl in Iran who makes a post or a video in support of #WomanLifeFreedom is kidnapped and sent to Evin prison. This girl (18) is literally awaiting rape then execution. Her name is #FarnushEsmi say her name, save her life. #IranRevolution2022 #sickening

This is just a great thread.
Replying to @UrsulaV
It read a bit like a tasting menu at a very strange restaurant: 1 min - localized pain 2 min - hot flush 5 min - chills — 8 min - vomiting 10 - loss of bowel control —— 30 min - disinterest in fate

My wallet was stolen from inside my work today in SCS in Kilmarnock, I could care less about the bank cards or anything in it but I was given the wallet as a gift from Laura from Mia before she passed away and I cherish it more than anything. Shares would be appreciated.

Here are Hunt's reasons for staying in the EU. Where are his reasons for staying out of the EU? Is he and Sunak really doing their best for our economy and the interest of our country? #GeneralElectionNow

The Battle of Bamber Bridge, 1943. Racist US military police attacked black US troops on British soil. US military authorities demanded the town’s pubs impose a colour bar, the local landlords responded with signs that read “Black Troops Only” which pissed them off. A THREAD
