Replying to @drlouiseivers
I will say that many of my refugee health colleagues from LMIC settings keep a low social media profile (particularly from Mexico) because of personal risks of doing the work, along with language and access barriers. Most of the connections I have are through @RefugeeSociety.

#COVID19 as a pretext to restrict migrant rights: @Stephen_Cornish speaking at #NARHC2021: "What we need is a medical response plan". Indeed lockdowns in crowded refugee camps are the consequences of inaction, and a sure path to loss of lives.

Ensure inclusion of migrant & refugees populations in health & social services including under COVID-19 lockdown. Governments must not weaponize public health responses. Border controls can "drive riskier modes of travel to seek asylum" - @sandraqsmiley #NARHC2021 #healthequity

"COVID-19 used as excuse by Mediterranean countries to limit people coming to shore." This inability to seek asylum, stopping life saving activity, delayed processing etc spurs xenophobia & dehumanizes -an untenable attack on refugee rights & norms @Stephen_Cornish #narhc2021

Ahmed Garat, Dadaab refugee camp @MSF COVID-19 realities/response. At first care was limited, oxygen supply was poor, people feared quarantine. "We had to do joint advocacy [to establish a quality isolation centre]. There's no home-based care in camps, shelters crowded #narhc2021
