Big Pharma says they need to charge astronomical prices to pay for research and development. Yet, the amount they spend on manipulating the market to enrich shareholders completely eclipses what's spent on R&D. Today, I confronted a CEO about the industry's lies, with visuals ⤵️

Americans with a severe mental illness are 16x more likely than others to be killed by police. Congress needs to pass my Mental Health Justice Act, which would make it easier for states to send trained mental health professionals to people in crisis. washingtonpost.com/investiga…

Weapons designed to shoot and kill en masse have no place among civilians. We can and must save lives by banning assault weapons and high capacity magazines.

Big Pharma has tried every trick in the special interest playbook to deceive Americans for profit, including in their ads. Today, @RepSpanberger and I introduced legislation to better protect patients from Big Pharma's shady advertising practices.

As we celebrate freedom today, I can't stop thinking about the millions of Americans who no longer have the Constitutional right to make decisions about their own bodies. We'll never realize our ideal of being the land of the free if Americans don't have bodily autonomy. #July4th

The Postal Service is one of our nation's greatest civic treasures—and it must be protected. Millions depend on it to run small businesses, fill prescriptions, vote, and stay connected to loved ones. Happy 51st birthday, US Postal Service! 🥳

No one is above the law, including judges and justices. I'm urging my colleagues to crack down on corruption in the courts and tighten ethics requirements for the federal judiciary.

The Supreme Court just struck a devastating blow to the @EPA's authority to fight the climate crisis, but @RepMikeLevin and I refuse to give up on our planet. We led a letter detailing executive actions the Administration should consider to protect families from pollution.
We only have one planet and we must do everything we can to strengthen environmental standards & protect the health & well-being of all Americans.   Today, @RepKatiePorter and I sent a letter outlining steps the @EPA can take to address pollution & tackle the #ClimateCrisis.

Congress does not have access to reliable data on LGBTQI+ communities, and that's leaving lawmakers unprepared to counter states that attack individual freedoms. I'm proud the House passed legislation I've been pushing for to better document the diversity of LGBTQI+ Americans.

I stand up for taxpayers. Every part of government, including Congress, should use tax dollars judiciously—and you should be able to hold us accountable. I introduced a bill today that lets the public know when, where, and why Congressmembers are traveling with official funds.

Restrictions on abortion are restrictions on freedom. Every American, regardless of where they live, should have the liberty to make their own decisions about their families and futures.

Abortion is an economic issue that affects all of us. Women contribute trillions to our economy each year. Every American, regardless of whether they have kids or not, will feel the pain of thousands of women being forced from the workforce.

As a single mom, I know how big a decision it is to start or grow a family. Today’s ruling takes that decision away from parents and gives it to politicians.

We can talk tomorrow about how this partisan ruling substitutes a political agenda for decades of precedent. Today, we focus on the millions of Americans who will go to bed tonight with less freedom to control their own bodies than generations before them had.

Vincent Chin was beaten to death by men motivated by anti-Asian hate 40 years ago today. The killers received no jail time—an injustice that helped spark the AAPI civil rights movement. As we remember Vincent today, we must recommit to standing against hate in all forms.

I have been pushing Congress to keep kids fed and extend the universal school meal program. Today, the House voted to do just that.
Children shouldn't be going hungry in our schools. For the best use of tax dollars, we should focus on reaching all kids so the ones most in need actually get fed. The universal school meals program ends June 30. Congress must follow California's lead and extend it.

Today, the Supreme Court weakened the authority of states to protect Americans from gun violence. This partisan ruling departs from precedent and makes families in California and across the country less safe. Lives are on the line—and the legitimacy of our courts is in question.

Good news! @HHSgov launched the maternal mental health hotline I've been pushing for. Counselors speak English and Spanish, and interpreters are available for 60 languages. Dial 1-833-9-HELP4MOMS (1-833-943-5746) for free, confidential support before, during, or after pregnancy.
Replying to @RepKatiePorter
I'm proud that my proposal to establish a maternal mental health hotline was signed into law last year. I'm continuing to fight for proper funding of this program, which provides support for new moms, tailored to their individual cultural and linguistic needs.

Insurers are exploiting a loophole to avoid covering mental health services for firefighters, police, and public school teachers. I'm proud the House just passed my proposal to strengthen current law and better protect public servants from Big Insurance's greed.
