Soon I’m starting playtesting on my first adventure I intend to publish. It’s about a diamond cartel that’s cornered the market on resurrection. Here’s the first piece of art I’ve commissioned, by Andrew Phan. His portfolio is here: artstation.com/droodesigns

In 5e, resurrection spells all require diamonds. This is a rich worldbuilding detail that ONLY appears in the material components of a couple spells. It’s an easy jump from the shady history of real, earthly diamonds to a a shady magical history there too.

It’s going to be a morally fraught adventure with some inescapable social and political commentary and a hefty amount of satire. I have a great villain who will feel very familiar. Tons of Easter eggs for savvy readers.

Thanks! Playtesting's started. It's a satire of capitalism with some tongue-in-cheek humor. I'm happy with the direction it's headed in

An idea so good it feels like everyone SHOULD be thinking this... But have never. Well done. Damn.

Thanks for the offer; instant follow! I've done some background reading on the history of De Beers and how diamond marketing changed in the US over the past 100 or so years. I've had a harder time finding about the mines in Canada and Russia.
